Privacy Notice

Scope

This notice describes how we handle information through aisafetycareers.org, including the job board and employer role-submission flow. It does not govern an employer’s own website, application process, or other third-party service linked from the board.

Information we collect

When you browse the site, our hosting, security, content-delivery, font, and analytics providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device details, pages viewed, and approximate usage events.

When an employer submits a role, we collect the information entered in the form: organization name and website, work email, role details, job description, location, application URL, and selected listing options. We also retain information needed to verify the submitting work email and administer the submission.

For paid listing options, payment information is handled by our payment processor. We do not receive or store full payment-card numbers.

How we use information

• Operate, secure, and improve the job board and its search and submission features.
• Verify employer submissions, review roles, communicate about a submission, and publish approved listing content.
• Process paid listing options, refunds, and related payment support.
• Measure site usage and diagnose service issues.
• Comply with legal obligations and protect the site, its users, and our rights.

Legal bases for processing

If data-protection law in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland applies to you, we process personal information to provide and administer the service and to take steps at your request before providing a service; to pursue our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the board and preventing abuse; to comply with legal obligations; and, where required, with your consent. We rely on consent for optional analytics cookies. You may withdraw that consent at any time through Cookie Settings on the home page; withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before it.

When information is shared

Approved job listing content is displayed publicly on AI Safety Careers. We share personal information with service providers that help us operate the site, including hosting, security, content-delivery, font, analytics, email-delivery, and payment providers. They process information as needed to provide their services.

We may also disclose information where required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect people, prevent fraud or abuse, or respond to a valid legal process.

International transfers

We are based in the United States, and information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from the laws where you live. Where required by applicable law, we use a lawful transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or contractual safeguards, for international transfers. You may contact us to request information about the safeguards relevant to your information.

Cookies and analytics

With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to measure visits and interactions. You can manage your preferences at any time. We store your choice on your device for up to 12 months, then ask again. If you withdraw consent, we stop analytics processing for future visits; you can remove existing cookies through your browser settings. Essential technologies used to provide security or the service may still be used.

Your choices and requests

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or portability of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where we rely on it. These rights are subject to applicable law and legitimate business, security, payment, or recordkeeping needs. To make a request, email hello@aisafetycareers.org and include enough detail for us to identify the relevant information. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data-protection authority.

Security and retention

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We retain information for as long as needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect against fraud or misuse, then delete or de-identify it when it is no longer needed.

You do not need to provide personal information to browse the site. If you do not provide the details required to submit a role or verify a work email, we cannot review or publish that role. We do not use personal information to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as our practices or the service change. We will post the revised notice here and update the date above.
